Adding a cute puppy to the family can be an exciting time in life for any family. However what do you do when your puppy begins to bite everything that he/she can reach? As his master you will be required to set boundaries on what they are allowed to bite and what they are NOT allowed to bite. This article is geared to giving you tips on how to stop puppy biting.

Your puppy does not know that you do not like that behavior; it is up to you to teach your puppy not to bite. Puppy teeth are as sharp as needles and can cause real pain especially if they get a good hold of you. All dogs have a bacteria in their mouth that can infect you if you have a wound on your being. Many people tend to believe that these behaviors are cute when they are young; however you will not feel that way as they get older.

Most people will end up crate training a puppy because they realize that it is one of the easiest ways to stop this unwanted behavior. We all need to realize that biting puppies will turn into adult dogs.

Your puppy will tend to bite as you play with them, they will become over excited and begin biting everything they can reach. However as you begin teaching them and working on that behavior they will begin to learn to discontinue that behavior. However as with any other kind of dog behavioral training you must do it on a consistent basis. If you want them to learn then you have to tell them more than once.

With consistent training you can teach them to stop. When they bit you tell them NO and give them a deep growl just as a dog would. They will begin to understand that they are not supposed to be doing that. If they continue to do it; keep repeating the process and use your hands to push him away.

If they continue to do it then grasp him by the collar and look into his eyes while telling him NO. You need to realize that your puppy has submissed to you when they roll onto their back. This will get them to become calm and submissive and they will stop with the behavioral problem.

They will usually stop biting at this point; however if for some reason they still continue the habit. It is time to put them in their kennel and give them time to calm down. This will let them understand that if they act like this they will have to be alone in their kennel for a while. They will not like this and they will whine for a while because dogs love the company of humans. However if you put them in the kennel while they are doing the action you are trying to stop they will understand this and they will stop doing it because they will understand that if they do it, they will be punished.

One thing to remember is that you never want to hit your puppy. Your puppy will begin to become extremely fearful of you. One of the great things is that it is easy to control dogs behavioral problems by using humane methods.
