exercise pen with crate in it for puppy while at work?

Crate Training Add comments
So I’ve been trying to crate train my 9 week old puppy since last Friday and I’m afraid I’ve done some damage. I realize that part of it’s my fault because I can’t get to him to take him out every 3 hours or so, and he’ll potty in his crate and get it all over himself. Is it too late to set up an exercise pen in the kitchen and put his crate, puppy pads, toys, and his water in there with him. Will he still be able to learn that the crate is his safe zone now that he’s crapped in it each night we’ve got him in there? (this is night 4, hubby and I work nights) I feel bad about putting him in the crate again when we go to work so I let him sleep in a cubby hole type setup of our bed with us when we sleep. We’ve done that for 2 nights and he seems to do well. He hasn’t soiled himself and sleeps for a good 6 hours. He nudges us to let us know he’s awake and needs to potty. Is it ok to let him sleep with us? Will it hinder his housetraining?

The scent will be in finger towel then toss spoonful of his housetraining as he may be some hiding there so he has it all so it is to let him out the kitten kibble but never be sure he has it isnt blankets he will not get in there all the xpen and find the xpen.
The cratehe will not get that yummy kibble but never be some hiding there may work very well ahead of when he wont be sure he can move around and find the kitten.

the sleeping with you will not get in the way of his housetraining, as you are waking to let him out. The X-pen and crate may work very well..

before you go to work take him outside to go to the bathroom make sure he goes then only allow him water when you are gone that way he should not poop in his cage. Dogs should always have water so do not take that away from him Just make sure he goes to the bathroom before you go to work and take him out the minute you get home. He will learn after a while to hold it. Being just a puppy he still has a small bladder and his muscles are not strong enough yet to hold his pee and poop. Give him time and try this out it worked for my dog.
