to crate train a dog…you need to start out with the smallest crate…then go up to the next size as your pup grows. if they have room to lay in one area and GO in another then they will….they also have crates that GROW with your dog you can get one a wal-mart
I disagree I bought a size appropriate crate and my 4 pound puppy hated it. I put her in a large crate and she loves her new bedroom and has never soiled it. The best thing I could tell you is treat the crate as her bedroom that is what I do, my puppy is 12 weeks old and when I leave the door open during the day and she wants a nap she walks right in and goes to sleep or relaxes in it. Sometimes when I have to put her in her crate when I cannot watch her then later I go to let her out she just stays for a while so I leave the door open and she comes and goes as she pleases. Another great thing to remember is NEVER give the puppy the chance to soil her crate, always take the puppy out to go potty, even if you have to set teh alarm to wake up every 3 hours, that is what I did and gradually I could increase it and now she goes 6 hours at night holding it, but goes about 20 times throughout the day lol. Good luck!
